First Friday for Good: Made in KC, Made for Impact
Come join us September 2 for our next First Friday for Good! Here in Kansas City, we know how to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We’re a city of creators, builders, designers, crafters and makers. At this month’s First Friday for Good, we’re celebrating the work-hard-play-hard spirit of our city, featuring all things made in Kansas City. Join us September 2 for a variety of home-grown pop-up shops.

This month, we welcome Hangups, Broken Arrow Crafts, Ni-Chern Designs, Sock101 and Simple Science Juices to First Friday for Good. And while you’re shopping, we’ll have plenty of beer, can-be-spiked lemonade and delicious snacks!
HANGUPS will feature unique hand-crafted jewelry, cards and gifts made from vintage, antique, repurposed and quality materials. Shop for many one-of-a-kind inspired pieces, from leather cuff bracelets to trombone or clarinet earrings. The shop donates a portion of their proceeds to two of their passions: Band of Angels, which promotes music programs in schools, and Literacy KC, helping Kansas Citians 16 and older learn to read.
BROKEN ARROW CRAFTS will showcase its lovely line of wearables with an outdoorsy twist. The shop includes minimalist jewelry, wanderlust-inspired tees and tote bags, plus crisply-designed prints. Broken Arrow Crafts’ items feature tribal patterns, cozy plaid and thoughtful quotes. A portion of proceeds from their sales will be dedicated towards missionaries.
NI-CHERN DESIGNS will bring hand-sewn accessories for women and animals. Come shop for brightly colored wallets, pouches and keychains, plus collars and leashes for your four-legged friends. And, just in time for college football season, Ni-Chern Designs features a school spirit line of products as well. KC Pet Project will receive a portion of the proceeds from their sales.
SOCK 101 will feature its line of anything-but-boring socks, with patterns and designs to spruce up your wardrobe. Trust us, these are nothing like Grandpa’s Gold Toes. Sock101 socks are Think polka dots and stripes, KC-inspired team spirit socks and custom designed Socks for a Cause. A portion of Socks for a Cause proceeds go to nonprofits like Autism Speaks, the ASPCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters and more.
SIMPLE SCIENCE JUICES will showcase its organic, cold-pressed juices, plus smoothies and snacks. (Yes, they’ll bring free samples!) With a mission to inspire wellness, Simple Science Juices are made up of scientifically-formulated blends for optimal nutrition and rejuvenation — and they’re delicious too. Their mission is to inspire wellness, and support customers with busy lives achieve optimal health.
First Fridays are lively and popular evenings for a reason: they’re a time to explore everything that makes Crossroads a vibrant neighborhood, from creativity to culture to community. First Fridays for Good honors this KC tradition, celebrating what makes Kansas City a great place to call home.
