MailChimp 101 by Fervor: Strategic Email Marketing Class
A first-of-its-kind email marketing class for small business professionals and entrepreneurs.

In the world of marketing and business, these are famous last words: If you build it, they will come. Sure, this is an iconic line from a classic film. But, just because you put your heart and soul into your business does not mean that anyone will notice, let alone become a client.
First of all, if you hear voices whispering in your ear, it’s time to consult a professional. But, if you hear your voice, wondering about using email marketing to grow your business, Kansas City only has a few Certified MailChimp Experts. We are one of them.
Last week, we hosted a group of about 20 Kansas City professionals and small business owners for a two hour MailChimp 101 class, for free. There is that little voice in your head again, telling you,“But we do social media marketing. Email marketing is so old-school.”
Seriously, bro, you need professional marketing help. Not to knock social media, but “old-school” email marketing rakes in about $113 billion dollars worth of revenue, annually. That’s billion, with a “B.” If you had come out to ThinkBigKC last week, you would have learned how email marketing can take every dollar of your marketing budget and turn it into $44.25, on average.
4,425% ROI, amigo. Boom!

And, it’s simple. You just have to have a plan. MailChimp 101 by Fervor was about sharing a strategy with proven success. Ask our sponsors.
The group that came out represented Kansas City’s best in non-profits, real estate pros, transportation specialists, specialty foods moguls, journalists and health systems entrepreneurs. We admit that we were surprised at the breadth of industry representation.
Everyone had one thing in common: a desire to grow their businesses through email marketing. They quickly learned that email marketing success is about knowing who their intended audience is, what to say to them and how often to say it. Then, we focused on creating and using templates that streamline the process, which saves small business owners some of their most expensive and rarest asset: their time.
Bottom line: businesses need to measure effectiveness. Rounding out the MailChimp101 class were several guidelines and resources for getting to the important data to make decisions, optimize for results, and grow. You do want to grow, don’t you?
Not to beat our chest at all, but those who attended gave us 4.5 out of 5 stars. We could talk about how great it was all day. But, here are a couple of powerful comments from those who were there:

“I had a great experience! Learned a lot. It was very well organized, straight and to the point.”
– Journalist
“I learned a greater knowledge of the legal aspects of email marketing.”
– Transportation Specialist
“Actually taking the time to define ideal clients was one of the most valuable things I did with my entire week! Thanks for reminding me to do it, and for creating a space to do it in.”
– Real Estate Pro
