Meet Kerri Voyles
Kerri Voyles serves clients as Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Fervor. Meet Kerri.
At Fervor, Kerri is: Marketing and Communications Coordinator. “My role is to support our clients and the Fervor team in any way possible, from coordination to design and content work and everything in between,” she says.
What brought her to Kansas City: Kerri is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. She studied at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where she earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Strategic Communication. Her next role was with the Missouri Community Action Network in Jefferson City, MO, as the Strategic Communication Manager. When her husband Ethan took a job in Kansas City in 2016, the two relocated, and KC is home today.
Her Fervor connection: “I have a heart for nonprofits and impact-makers, and so when I learned about Fervor though a fellow Mizzou Journalism School alum, I was excited!” she smiles.
Family: Kerri has been married to Ethan, an environmental engineer, for two years. Her side of the family lives in Nebraska, and she’s a proud aunt to an adorable nephew.
Outside Fervor: Kerri and Ethan enjoy cooking, being outdoors, visiting family and friends and being in community. They’re especially enjoying getting to know their Westport neighborhood. “There are lots of different characters and it’s been fun to get to know our neighbors,” she says.
Dancing queen: Since her first class at age three, Kerri has been passionate about dancing — ballet, tap, modern and everything in between. She was even part of the Golden Girls dance team while at Mizzou. She’s looking forward to getting plugged into dance once again, and hopes to start classes at the KC Ballet very soon.
A community she loves: Some friends from college connected Kerri to a group of girls here in Kansas City who get together and share life each week. “We come from different churches and different backgrounds, but we are able to share life together. Coming to KC and getting plugged in right away was wonderful.”
Favorite place for a beverage test: Tea is Kerri’s drink of choice, so she’ll go anywhere with a good cup of tea. Thou Mayest has a great selection. Mornings call for black tea, and in the afternoons, Kerri likes herbal tea.
Favorite KC restaurant: Eden Alley, on the Country Club Plaza. “It’s quirky and has delicious food!”
Favorite reads: When she reaches for a book, Kerri likes anything historical, both fiction and nonfiction. Online, she’s a fan of Relevant Magazine.
Favorite TV shows: Kerri and Ethan like old episodes of the Office. “It’s our go-to if we need to decompress!”
What drives her up a wall: Keep up the pace around Kerri — her pet peeve is slow walkers.
Digs Fervor because: “I love the Fervor story, especially how our heart lies with clients who make impact,” she says. “I love working alongside everyone on the team, and everyone shares the same dedication to serving our clients.”
