#GivingTuesday: Generosity and Impact Matter
Many Fervor clients are nonprofits and we’re constantly blown away at the impact they’re making in KC, across the country and around the world.
But there’s a misunderstanding out there about who can and can’t make a difference. Somehow, nonprofits became known as the impact-makers and world-changers. We disagree. Making a profit and making a difference can coexist — and when they coexist, everyone gains. Companies, nonprofits, organizations, families, individuals: there’s no pre-qualification for giving. Everyone can make an impact.
Enter Giving Tuesday. It’s a national movement to give back as much as we get, a paradigm shift after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On Tuesday December 3, 2013, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.
And the timing of this national day of giving matters too. At the start of the annual holiday season, it’s a paradigm shift after the doorbusters and deals of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Our country has a beautiful tradition of generosity, and #GivingTuesday celebrates that tradition, keeping it from getting lost in the shopping shuffle.
It’s a simple concept. Find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Time, talent and treasure all count. What you give is up to you, and what organization you bless is also your choice.
We believe there’s more to business than the bottom line. You too? Join us in generosity on December 3. Generosity and impact matter every day, and we can’t wait to celebrate it this #GivingTuesday.
